SociaLogic, a brand new Chicago-based social media marketing agency, released the "Online Conversation Visualizer." It shows online chatter in real time. Great design and these guys really seem to have their analytics, data, strategies and other things that involve numbers down. Welcome to the hood.

Cooliris has developed the first 3D ad ad for the iPad. They are launching the technology with an ad for The Weather Channel called “From the Edge” which features award winning photographer Peter Lik. The ad allows users to view the Grand Canyon in glorious 3D and by tilting your iPad in different directions, you can move around the image to view it from different angles.

Above is a demo of how the 3D modeling works, if you are like us, and don't have an iPad. Pretty damn cool.

  • See Stuart Dybek at Energy BBDO's Creative Salon

The next Creative Salon at Energy is slated for June 2 at 4pm, and it is a special one.

Acclaimed Chicago author, Stuart Dybek, has kindly provided “Bait,” a short story about his father from an autobiographical collection currently in progress. “Bait” first appeared in TriQuarterly and won a 2009 Literary Award from the Illinois Arts Council for best essay published in an Illinois magazine. Of his story, Dybek told us, “My father was a difficult man, an immigrant. This piece is an affectionate reflection of his life and my experience with him. At the same time, this piece is also about memory and about family. How can I be affectionate about a man who was experienced as a thing to fear by my brother? In this way the piece is also about fiction and non-fiction and how one’s perspective shapes the two.”

Copies of "Bait" will be available and attendees are invited to share their thoughts with Mr. Dybek and the group. Thursday, June 2, 4–6 p.m. on the 9th floor.
