ComEd and Leo Burnett are promoting ComEd's Fridge and Freezer Recycle Rewards program in a really cool way. They commissioned local artists to give ten recycled refrigerators new life as functional pieces of art. All of them are currently on display on Michigan Avenue and will be though August 19. So go, brave the tourists and check em out. Definitely cool. Ice cold cool.

These are real pieces of art being put on display like that. I friend of mine works as a junk hauler San Diego and he's managed to develop a passion in selecting and collecting old items, you'd be surprised to see how many little fortunes he has in garage. I hope these displays work as a good sustainability awareness.
Old refrigerators need to be thrown out because of its effect on the ozone layer. However, there is a proper way to take care of that and that is one way by creating cool arts from them.
