#WhatIfChicago

The City of Chicago and Chicago Ideas Week (CIW) launched a new city-wide social media and community engagement initiative, “#WhatIfChicago,” which asks anyone to offer ideas and solutions for reducing the number of illegal guns on the streets of Chicago.

Simply Tweet your solutions with the tag #WhatIfChicago and maybe your idea will be discussed by a panel of gun control activists, law enforcement officials and policy experts Oct. 11, 2012, during CIW. Ideally, these ideas will put into action following the panel.

The initiative has already seen some great success. The City of Philadelphia has created a similar movement and famous people like Russell Simmons and Lupe Fiasco have added to the conversation.
