SUMMER 2023 STRATEGY INTERNSHIP
ALL OFFICES (Chicago, Denver, and NYC)

WHO WE ARE + WHAT WE DO

Egg Strategy is a global strategy and innovation consultancy that provides consumer insight, strategy, and innovation services to clients across the world. We work with some of the biggest consumer packaged goods (CPG), health, and lifestyle companies to transform their big questions into meaningful insights, and insights into actionable opportunities.

We leverage our expertise in strategy and market research, including both quantitative and qualitative primary research methodologies, to offer the following types of services to our clients:
Consumer insights: create empathy with the consumer, inspire great marketing communications, and strengthen consumer-focused brand-building efforts
Strategy: uncover and shape growth opportunities, position and reposition brands and products, and define roadmaps to future growth
Innovation: identify, evaluate, and inspire new product or service opportunities

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for rising juniors, seniors or recent grads who are curious, driven, and excited to learn about consumer insights, growth, strategy, and innovation consulting!

Our internship program is designed to help you learn qualitative and/or quantitative research skills, methods for discovering patterns in consumer behavior, and ultimately, ways to translate what you learn into actionable implications for the client’s business. Although it’s helpful to know a thing or two about research methods, marketing, or branding, we’re mostly looking for people who are hungry to learn. We encourage you to apply if you’re interested, even if you don’t feel like you satisfy the full job description.

The ideal Egg Strategy internship candidate would be described as follows:

Rising juniors, seniors or recent graduate of a 4-year undergraduate program
Demonstrated appetite and aptitude for learning, both inside and outside the classroom.
Curiosity about the world and people-you may have been told as a kid that you ask too many questions.
Interest in consumer behavior, market research, brand strategy, growth strategy, or innovation.
Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking and analysis
Collaborative team-player

Egg Strategy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering a diverse environment with an inclusive workplace culture that values continuous improvement and accountability. We are actively seeking applicants who are eager to contribute to our culture with their own unique perspectives.

INTERNSHIP TASKS, DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES

Our internship program is designed to help you learn, grow, and contribute to our work together. Day to day, you will work alongside our full-time staff on client engagements within our three verticals--Health, Consumer Packaged Goods and Lifestyle. You’ll be part of work at all levels, from the very bottom to the very top of our organization, and we will call upon your personal strengths, experiences, and passions to contribute to our ever-growing company.

Whether you’re generating ideas for a questionnaire, ensuring the right respondents are recruited into our research groups, searching for images that say 1000 words, sifting through respondent quotes to find the one that brings a report to life, or anything in between, our internship program is sure to be both challenging and rewarding.

Interns’ key responsibilities may include the following:

Support full-time staff on project-related set-up, execution, analysis, and reporting
Take ownership of select project-related tasks, as assigned and supported by the project leader
Design and conduct an independent internship project, with the support of your manager
Contribute to company culture-building initiatives

Types of internship roles available: We offer internships in both our qualitative and quantitative teams. The two types of internships are similar in the variety of exposure to project types and client categories they provide, but qualitative and quantitative interns will learn different types of research methodologies used in insights, strategy, and innovation consulting, as detailed below:

Qualitative interns will spend most of their time supporting language-based research methodologies, deliverables, and workshops, where empathetic people-persons who are intrigued by seeing consumers’ beliefs and behaviors come to life through focus groups, interviews, and online research portals will perform well. Successful qualitative interns possess an ability to recognize and reconcile various themes and engage in meaningful conversation.
Quantitative interns will spend most of their time supporting numerical research methodologies and deliverables, including working with Microsoft Excel, SAS and SPSS. Successful quantitative interns are numbers and patterns-minded folks who are eager to dive deep into large sets of quantitative data and work with teams to build visually engaging charts and data analysis. A basic level of familiarity with Microsoft Excel is required for a quantitative internship.

We don’t expect all applicants to have a perfectly tailored resume for one type of position versus the other. Instead, we welcome you to apply for both types, if you’d like. Please share any preference in the additional application questions below.
