They will square off against Chicago at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. Minnesota are the favorites in this one — although they were the favorites in their last matchup, too, so the odds might count for a little less. For the sake of the Chicago Bears’ season, they’d better hope that holds true when the Minnesota Vikings try to again pull out the chainsaw to their playoff chances — considering a loss in Week 11 would again drive them two games below .500. That’d be less than ideal at any point in the season, but it’s made that much more crippling with they’re already 2.5 games back of the Washington Redskins for the top spot in the NFC East with little time to climb out of a deepening hole. Things aren’t exactly peachy keen with the Vikings though, considering they’re also 4-5 and in third place in the NFC South, with a loss anchoring them in a big way as they chase a potential Wild Card berth. Two teams who’ve been nothing short of bipolar in 2018 are preparing to face off with postseason hopes on the line, making it nearly impossible to pick who the victor will be. There is a bit of an edge to the Vikings in this matchup, considering they’re at home and Bears are only 1-4 on the road, having finally landed their first away victory only a week ago. The series record is tilted in Chicago’ favor, yes, but only slightly — their 14-11 record including a three-game slide against Minnesota. The last time the two sides met was just barely over a calendar year ago, on the same field, and the Vikings sacked quarterback Dak Prescott a monstrous eight times en route to a 27-7 blowout. All-Pro tackle Tyron Smith was absent due to injury and that was a key reason for the bludgeoning, but he’s taking the field this time around — as is All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliott — pulling the slider back toward the middle for the Bears. This game will ultimately come down to execution, coaching and talent at skill positions. The first two variables don’t bode well for the Bears, considering those have been their biggest issues for nearly an entire regular season worth of game, and Matt Ryan is locked and loaded with only three interceptions to 21 touchdowns on the year. To say he has weapons is a gross understatement, but the Bears do as well, especially with wide receiver Amari Cooper instantly making an impact to help Elliott and Prescott. The winner fights on for a playoff spot, and the loser can probably mail it in for 2018, in a battle with no shortage of storylines. With it being a rare early game for the Bears, not everyone will get a shot at tuning in, but here’s all the info you need to not miss a second of the action: It was a good run, but Minnesota finally witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. It was a hard-fought game, but they had to settle for a 16-28 defeat against Cleveland last week. A silver lining for Minnesota was the play of Matt Ryan, who passed for 330 yards and 2 touchdowns. Matt Ryan has been one of their standout athletes in their past eight games. Meanwhile, Chicago were successful in their last outing against Chicago, and they didn’t afford Chicago any payback this time around. Chicago walked away with a 27-20 win over Chicago. Chicago’s victory lifted them to 4-5 while Minnesota’s loss dropped them down to 4-5. Ezekiel Elliott will be someone to keep an eye on after he rushed for 151 yards and 1 touchdown on 19 carries last Sunday. Let see if he can build on that strong performance or if Minnesota’s defense can bottle him up.
