Once again, Havas Chicago is turning its public space at 36 Grand Street into a public platform. In support of Pride Month, the agency is opening its own literal Ice Cream Shoppe through today, June 22 where visitors are encouraged to #SendLickPics at the I SCREAM PRIDE Ice Cream Shoppe open to everyone from 3:30pm – 5:30pm on Friday.

In commenting on the installation, Anders Da Silva, Havas Creative Director said, “Since 2014, we’ve worked on more than 50 installations and initiatives to involve the agency with the community and give back in some way. The majority of fundraising efforts are geared toward inner city youth, and employees are able to bring their own ideas/causes/passions to light.”

He added that “I Scream Pride is about raising awareness for our community. We focused on LGBTQIA to bring those individuals a voice and, more importantly, celebrate our differences. All proceeds from this week will go to About Face Youth Theatre, a non-profit dedicated to helping youth in the LGBTQIA community find acceptance and the ability to express themselves.”

The initiative is part of a month-long program demonstrating  Havas ‘support for the LGBTQ+ community by opening the I SCREEM PRIDE Ice Cream Shop in its lobby – 36 E. Grand. This shop will spread awareness that when it comes to ice cream flavors and identities, the list is practically endless and sometimes you need to mix and match to create the perfect fit. People can create different Licks – ice cream flavors and toppings – for various LGBTQ+ identities by layering and experimenting to create an identity that suits them personally.

People are encouraged to come inside, create a cone, donate to the sweet charity – About Face Theatre, and show your Lick using #SendLickPics.
