The Chicago Portfolio School has made a significant move to ensure that classes go on as scheduled in the face of a dispute with its current landlord.
According to school director Jeffrey Epstein, ” We’ve already made emergency plans to hold classes in the WeWork facility on Kinzie next week and make use of their 45 meeting rooms and fantastic public hang-out spaces, should the renegotiation of the lease terms take longer than we expect.” Nice digs for learning!
The Chicago Portfolio School is in a rent dispute with its current landlord following the building’s acquisition – the third in five years – to a large Real Estate Investment Trust. The school was asked to leave its space until the dispute was settled, which Epstein expects to be done within the next couple of days.
Epstein notes that all students have been notified and that the school is in good financial shape and that all of its instructors have been paid in full.
