Johnson Publishing Files for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy

Chicago’s iconic 77-year-old Johnson Publishing – publisher of Ebony and Jet – filed for Chapter 7 liquidation after a turbulent period. The decline in publishing hit the company particularly hard and CEO Linda Johnson Rice, daughter of founder John H. Johnson, was unable to find additional sources of funding to save the flailing company.
