This past Sunday – National Ice Cream Day –  visitors to Millennial Park were treated with free ice cream from the Ace Hardware Ice Cream truck in flavors inspired by popular Benjamin Moore paint colors. The pop-up truck was part of a national activation created by ORKP as part of its Ace ‘Some Day’ holiday.

OKRP created “Some Day,” a holiday for Ace Hardware designed to celebrate its customers who finally get that DIY painting project completed. ‘Some Day’ this year was celebrated on July 16th and customers were rewarded for a job well done with free ice cream in select stores on Sunday July 17th  — which just happens to be National Ice Cream Day.

OKRP created the activation and partnered with an experiential company to create Benjamin Moore-inspired ice cream in four delicious flavors to match some of Benjamin Moore’s most popular paint colors: French White 1093, Mint Chocolate Chip 436, Strawberry-n-Cream 2103-70 and Cocoa Brown 2101-20.

In addition to on-demand delivery in New York, California and Chicago, there was a social media activation on Ace Hardware’s Instagram account (@acehardware), that rewarded 10 lucky DIY’ers who posted about their projects with their own quarts of the Benjamin Moore-inspired ice-cream.
