I have had the good fortune to be part of making a lot of great, effective advertising from start to finish. And I believe the process starts, hopefully, with a great product - and a really great insight about the target and why they'd want it. Great work can be made for any product or service if that amazing Creative idea is there, and all the parties involved are focused in the same direction.
The Creative has to believe that their job is to create ideas that will do the job they've been given to do, and the Client has to believe that the target will go get a sandwich if you don't give them a good reason to stay in their seats and watch. It takes both.
My goal is to continue to participate in this process either on the Agency or Client side.
