1o8, has launched ’I Got Love’, the inaugural statewide advertising campaign for Illinois Cares for Kids featuring Illinois artists, musicians, and production partners. The campaign debuts under the auspices of the Office of Governor J. B. Pritzker and lets residents know that affordable early childhood education and care is available to Illinois families.

Illinois Cares for Kids is a place parents, grandparents, caretakers, teachers, and childcare providers can access all things related to early childhood in Illinois. At the centerpiece of the campaign is a charming, animated video which introduces a fresh, modern rendition of the Nat King Cole classic ‘I Got Love’. The campaign media plan includes online video, CTV, local broadcast, streaming audio, digital, digital OOH, social and search.

“1o8 was thrilled to participate in bringing this worthy assignment to life for INCCRRA and the Governor’s Office. And we were able to invite some amazing local partners to help.” Jen Bills, Executive Creative Director, 1o8.

The ‘I Got Love’ campaign is all about Illinois-based local artistic collaboration. 1o8 leveraged the illustrations of artist, designer and street muralist Shawn Smith, the vocals of super songstresses Meagan McNeal and Arla Vox, the animation production expertise of Sarofsky, and the music production skills of Squeak E. Clean, to help develop and execute a fresh new rendition of the Nat King Cole classic ‘I Got Love’ in a charming, multi-generation-appealing video.

”Affordable childcare and learning early opportunities are essential to setting children on the path of success,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “We want every family in Illinois to feel empowered to find safe, affordable options for the children in their care, and the ‘I Got Love’ campaign will help give them the resources to do so.”

‘I Got Love’ was a natural vehicle to musically convey the message that Illinois is full of people who care. Plus, Nat King Cole has roots in Illinois, having gained early fame as a piano player while living at 4023 South Vincennes Avenue in Chicago. The song expresses the core tenet of the Illinois Cares for Kids program, while the whimsical, colorful animations bring the message to life in a charming, welcoming video.

1o8 additionally partnered with multicultural marketing experts PACO Collective to develop a bilingual campaign, accessible to the diverse Latinx community in Illinois. All communications are in both Spanish and English, so Illinois families can quickly and efficiently find the right providers and resources.
